When the young architect Annemarie Lehner-Schmid joined the family as a daughter-in-law in 1960, these extracts were combined with chocolate—drawing on a family tradition dating back to Theresia Hauer 1850 —as chocolate serves as an excellent medium for preserving the extracts' health-promoting properties. This created a fruitful synergy: chocolate for those who care about their health but do not want to forgo indulgence! This remains a top priority for the Phyto Chocolate®. product line to this day.
Their passion for medicinal plants and their work with healing herbs based on the teachings of Hildegard von Bingen led Aloisia Lehner and Annemarie Lehner to also produce cosmetics, particularly creams (see Ännimore & Leconte Fashion).
Following Aloisia Lehner-Tesar’s death in 1973, Johann Lehner handed the business over to his son, Robert Lehner. He himself moved to Mallorca, where he established a medicinal herb garden by the Mediterranean, focusing on aloe vera, rosemary, St. John’s wort, myrtle, fennel, chamomile, thyme, and bay laurel, as well as various spice plants. Johann Lehner lived on the island almost continuously until his death in 1980, supplying his high-quality products to the Robert Lehner OHG company run by his son and daughter-in-law. These established resources have successfully endured to this day.
